Killer Guppies Dragon Boat Team
Paddle :::: Bite :::: Love
25 Years Young
Killer Guppies (KG) started in 1999 as a dragon boat festival team and has since become a year-round non-profit club run entirely by volunteers under the Southern California Dragon Boat Club (SCDBC).
United by our love of competition, community, and fun, KG has grown into a respected competitive team, maintaining our belief that anyone, of any skill level, can fit in.
In 2025, we look forward to competing at our highest levels yet, pushing to be the strongest dragon boat team we can be while welcoming and supporting paddlers of all backgrounds and abilities.

A journey for all
General Fitness
We offer competitive and recreational boats, allowing you to grow your skills at your own pace. Regardless of the boat, we encourage everyone to be their best and improve overall fitness.
Strength & Endurance
When paddling, you engage the biggest muscle groups: your back, shoulders, legs, and core. Our practices include short-distance interval training and long-distance paddling.
Cardiovascular Health
Our training sessions incorporate high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and sustained aerobic exercises to enhance cardiovascular fitness, ensuring we improve overall health and stamina.
Outrigger Canoe (OC) Sessions
Our OC sessions enable paddlers of all experience levels extra water time. They focus on improving technique and speed, directly translating to dragon boating improvements.
PERG Workouts
Our land-based PERG workouts focus on group fitness where we challenge ourselves to build the strength and endurance needed on the water.
The Quantified Self
Some of our data junkies love fitness trackers and sharing on Strava, giving kudos on each workout. With each workout, big or small, we track the improvements to our overall health.
